Opportunities

There are several doors of opportunities open to journalists who associate with Development Communications (DevComs) Network. Such opportunities include the possibility of winning investigative story awards on development stories including; Health, Climate Change, Agriculture, Governance, Budget Tracking, Education, amongst others.

We always encourage journalists, mostly, science reporters, correspondents, editors, radio and television presenters and producers to report issue-based stories as opposed to event-oriented stories. We envisioned a situation whereby a journalist picks up an issue (identifies a problem), investigate it and follow it up until the issue is given the needed attention and action taken about it.

Other opportunities besides access to needed resources in terms of reference materials, internet access and free access to our studio include international recommendation and the opportunity to become a member of global networks of journalists through our twitter and facebook pages, yahoo groups and occassional media fora.
