(Devcoms) Network announced winner of the 2008 ONE Africa
Award.
September 9, 2008, Lagos: Devcoms Network has been awarded the prize of $100,000 for their work with the media
in Nigeria, training and sensitizing journalists and editors to public health care issues, especially for women
and children.

1. National mass mobilization for guinea worm eradication (1995 – 1998): Funded by the Jimmy Carter Center (Global 2000 Program on Eradication of Guinea Worm);

2. HIV/AIDS Campaign in the media (1998-1999) Funded by the UNAIDS;

3. Communication Strategies for Reproductive Health Reporting in the Nigerian Media (1998/1999): Funded under the MacArthur Foundation Fund for Leadership Development

10. HIV/AIDS HOTLINE the first hotline in Nigeria conceptualized by the Youth Empowerment Foundation (YEF) Nigeria and Development Communications Network in 2000 and now upgraded to a national HIV/AIDS Hotline.
